As The Wheel Turns

whackycrack asked: I've read all available books. but I really appreciate your concern for those who haven't. Good show, chap.

Aw, thanks. It bothers me sometimes when I see people like “I’ve only read up until Fires of Heaven” and then those same people are following this blog!!!!!

Uh-uh, girl. Uh-uh.

Hunters of the Horn. Trollocs. Whitecloaks. The Two Rivers hardly seemed the same place he had left. ‘Faile is a Hunter of the Horn, too. Do you know this Lord Luc, Faile?’

‘I have had enough,’ she announced. Perrin frowned as she stood and came around the table to him. Seizing his head, she pulled his face into her midriff. ‘Your mother is dead,’ she said quietly. ‘Your father is dead. Your sisters are dead, and your brother. Your family is dead, and you cannot change it. Certainly not by dying yourself. Let yourself grieve. Don’t hold it inside where it can fester.’

He took her by the arms, meaning to move her, but for some reason his hands tightened till that grip was the only thing holding him up. It was only then that he realized he was crying, sobbing into her dress like a baby. What must she think of him? He opened him mouth to tell her he was all right, to apologize for breaking down, but what came out was, ‘I couldn’t get here any faster. I couldn’t—I—’ He gritted his teeth to shut himself off.

‘I know,’ she murmured, stroking his hair for all the world as if he were a child. ‘I know.’

He wanted to stop, but the more she whispered understanding, the more he wept, as though her hands soft on his head were smoothing the tears out of him.

Spoilers guidelines

I generally don’t considered anything that happens before Knife of Dreams to be a spoiler because there are very few visual things that could be portrayed in artwork that are major spoilers. Knife of Dreams and on, though, there are some major visual spoilers. I would suggest that if you have not read up to Crossroads of Twilight (or at least Path of Daggers) that you discontinue following this blog.

I’m posting this as a reminder about my policy concerning artwork that contains what I consider to be a major spoiler. Anything that has a spoiler from KoD on gets tagged as the book that it spoils. I ask that you please download Tumblr Savior and add the tags of any books you have not read. Basically, blacklist any of the following if you have not read them:

#knife of dreams

#the gathering storm

#towers of midnight

Thank you for your cooperation, the light illumine you all.

His hawk-nosed profile was handsome enough, though not quite the sort to make every woman’s heart beat faster. In a way, “almost” and “not quite” had been the story of Demandred’s life. He had the misfortune to be born one day after Lews Therin Telamon, who would become the Dragon, while Barid Bel Medar, as he was then, spent years almost matching Lews Therin’s accomplishments, not quite matching Lews therin’s fame. Without Lews Therin, he would have been the most acclaimed man of the Age.

If Randland had Mother’s Day, would all the Aes Sedai have to bring the Amyrlin presents?
